Q&A

What’s an average day for you like?
My day is a constant quest to get on the water as much as possible.

What is the most difficult part of wakeboarding/wakeskating for a beginner? The easiest?
The most difficult part for a beginner is probably the intimidation. That’s why it’s so important for the experienced riders to offer encouragement and support.

How dangerous do u really think wakeboarding is compared to what people do in their regular activities?
It varies, as a beginner it is no more dangerous than any other board sports. As you progress there is an increased risk when going bigger or trying something new.

What usually gets people hooked on wakeboarding/wakeskating?
For me, it was the challenge to always better my riding and learn new tricks.

Do you own any other toys?
I got a Honda fiddy all tricked out, and I’m almost done with my winch.

What are three things you could not live without?
A rope, a boat, and a board.

What are your expectations for this sport?
I’d like to see the support and longevity that snowboarding gets.

Who have been your biggest supporters in getting you to where you are now?
My parents for starting me on my way, and my wife for continuing to support me in my obsession.

What do you do in your spare time when you’re not riding?
I work on ridebutter.com, set up trips, or help organize events.

How about in the off season to stay in shape?
I snowboard and skateboard and try to get in the gym when I can.

What is your biggest goal to accomplish this season?
I’m coming off of ACL surgery this year, so having my full bag of tricks back with the same amplitude and style is where I want to be. Anything new is just a bonus.

What’s your favorite way to ride?
Behind a boat, Cable, Winch? I think they are all different, and each have their benefit. It all depends on whats available and what type of mood I’m in.

Favorite conditions?
Butter.

Where would be your biggest dream to ride and why?
Camsur Watersports Complex , they have an awesome setup there, and it looks like everyone there is always so pumped to ride.

What song do you listen to while riding that puts you in the zone?
It all depends on my mood, but usually punk or rap.

What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever done wakeboarding?
I was part of a show ski like pyramid once, that was pretty cool.

What’s the trick to grinding rails and not killing yourself?
Bend your knees, and look down the rail.

What would you say is your signature trick?
Scarecrow
