From the Roller’s…
I just wanted to forward a copy of our support letter for you to read – PLEASE do not feel any obligation in any way to financially support us if you do not feel lead to do so. It would just be great to know we could count on you for your prayers.
I am writing this letter filled with nerves, excitement, and much anticipation. God has blessed me and my mom (Lisa) with one of the most amazing opportunities to have come about in both our lives! We have been accepted to travel to Brazil this summer for a medical mission trip. FAME (Fellowship of Associates of Medical Evangelism) has organized this trip, and 20 of us will be traveling on a boat down the Amazon River for 13 days. Doctors and Dentists will be included on the boat to be able to set up clinics at many villages along the River. Me and my mom and others will assist the medical professionals in treating patients physical and spiritual needs.
This opportunity is especially a blessing because my mom and I have always loved to serve others for the Glory of God and His Kingdom, but we have never served on a mission trip together! It is something we have felt called to do for a very long time! My mom has felt God leading her to help the AIDS children in Africa for many years, and although, we are not going to Africa, she has recently heard God tell her He would like her to go with me to Brazil. In high school I realized God’s purpose for my life is medical missions. I went on my first mission trips to Costa Rica these past two years, and the experience was amazing. However, I am especially excited for this trip because I will be doing exactly my calling of specifically medical missions.
If you have felt God speaking to you lately, or just in the past couple minutes of reading this letter, to take part in reaching the people in Brazil with the message of Jesus Christ by sending us to share that message, we would like to ask you to prayerfully consider helping us to go by providing a financial gift. The total cost of the trip will be $6000 dollars for the two of us. Any gift will be tax-deductible, checks should be made payable to FAME. However, we need to keep track of our support checks and mail them to FAME after they have been received. Please mail any donation you feel lead to make to Lisa or KC Roller at 199 Cool Stone Bend, Lake in the Hills, IL 60156. The check as I mentioned should be made out to FAME as it will be a tax deductible donation for you. (DO NOT make the check out to KC or Lisa Roller).
Please know that it is truly not my desire to pressure you in any way, and a wonderful gift of being a Christian is being assured that God will provide the means for us to go since He has planned this for our lives. It is just as important for you to keep us in your prayers before our trip and as we are there. Our trip would greatly benefit from the prayers of all of our friends and family back home!
The Amazon is not the safest place in the world as I’m sure you have heard. We may be in danger at certain points of the trip, so it would be awesome if we could have one person or family committed to pray for us each day of our trip. If you are willing to be one of our “prayer partners” please let us know via any form of communication you have with either of us!
