In its third year, the Third Rail Jam Tour is an unstoppable juggernaut of snow sports, hip hop culture, fashion art and music. 3rd Rail is entertaining its largest attendances and lifestyle press accolades since its inception. The tour made its first Chicagoland stop at Raging Buffalo Snow Sports Terrain Park on Saturday 2/6 with bright skies and big tricks from the 50 plus riders that competed in four divisions: 14 and younger, all girls, best of breed and skiers.

Riders competed for cash prizes and a limited edition Launch Snowboard designed by graffiti legend Pose2 along with other sponsor provided prizes. A hip hop backdrop and soundscape including “The Battle Below Zero,” a freestyle MC competition pitting eight local MCs against one another right on the slopes along with live graffiti artists and break dancer demos set the stage for this gritty event.

Other Sponsors included Red Bull, www.All-ActionSports.com, Under Armour, Skull Candy, Turbine, and Kangol all contributing to the prize purse and guest giveaways. The day’s festivities wrapped and winners were announced as the 3rd Rail Transitioned to the After Party!

Side Outs was the host venue for the 21+ set and quickly reached a capacity crowd that enjoyed adult beverages courtesy of Kilo Kai Rum as DJ Image primed the room for Slick Rick Originally from the U.K., the Grammy-nominated rapper, Slick Rick, set the tunes for Snoop Dogg who covered Rick’s hit song, “La-Di-Da-Di,” and is popularly known for his song, “Children’s Story,” often heard on the dance floors in addition to his role in Jay-Z’s, “Girls, Girls, Girls.” Slick Rick took the stage and raised the roof officially branding 3rd Rail Chicago 2010 a huge success.
